FITNESS MATTERS INDOOR ROWING TEAM
Fitness Matters Indoor Rowing Team was founded in 2014 by Sam Blythe. Our team encompasses the whole spectrum of rowers, young and old, male and female, experienced rowers to complete beginners. Our members have a variety of goals. Some use the Concept 2 rowing machine to help them with their ‘on the water’ rowing, others are avid indoor rowers. Some have developed an interest in rowing as a result of their Crossfit training, others have ventured onto the machine purely to stay fit, fight aging or to keep the weight off. Whatever the reason, Team FM offers an umbrella under which we aim to help each other achieve our respective goals. Whether you are looking to participate, compete, or both we celebrate all at FM.
Although we have no qualifying times for joining we do look for all members aim to be active and support the team and their team mates in various ways. These involve logging metres for the club on the C2 web site (Check your C2 Logbook profile and see that your Affiliation is Fitness Matters and your Team is showing as Fitness Matters Indoor Rowing. To join the Team go to the Team tab and on the left hand side using the click down option look for Fitness Matters Indoor Rowing and the click on Join).
Also we encourage members to take part in the Cross Team Challenge and any inter team challenges we run, posting sessions and commenting on those of others by way of coaching and motivating team mates, or if you’re feeling adventurous, taking part in a race or two. Amongst many things on offer you can count on plenty of motivation, guidance and support.
Our Facebook page is operated by individuals appointed as ‘Admin’ who dedicate their free time to implementing and monitoring all things FM. If you ever have any concerns or questions then feel free to make contact via a direct message to Sam Blythe who will do his best to answer promptly. Once a member, feel free to comment and post to your heart’s content, it all contributes to maintaining a very vibrant and informative group.
As a member of the team you will also be eligible for an extended free trial period of 8 weeks instead of 4 weeks on the increasingly popular FM rowing plan.
